WE FACILITATE A SAFE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Tribute Access Rwanda (TAR)’s work saves and improves children’s lives around the country. We work to ensure children have healthcare, food and shelter as well as learning. We are committed to helping all children achieve their full potential by ensuring that they grow up healthier, receive good education, and safety.
We work alongside Local Government and other community stakeholders to make sure that no child dies from preventable diseases. Every year, 5.2 million children under the age of die from preventable causes.
Without a quality basic education, children are less likely to escape the cycle of poverty and may never have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. We work to ensure all children get the support and care they need before they start school, and that they able to read and write. We also work to make sure that schools are places where all children are safe and happy.
We also work with communities to create safe and stimulating preschool environments, and to take teaching materials into homes so the whole family can support a child’s education.
OUR IMPACT FOR CHILDREN
In 2020, we reached 250 children through our education support programmes. One of these children is Nirere from Gasabo District.
She was 15 when she unwillingly got impregnated as was forced to stop her education. She spent her time taking care of her small child at her parents’ home, being given a treatment that would never take anywhere in her life, cleaning her parents’ home, cooking for them, collecting water,…
Nirere’s life was transformed when she met the coordinator of our education support programme which helps children who dropped out of school and get back on track. Today, she is finishing her secondary school and she is ready to start university next year.
Tribute Access Rwanda (TAR) since 2017 has been fighting hard to improve basic education and support the most vulnerable children to access basic education needs, to end malnutrition in the Rwandan community. To educate the community about healthier practices and mitigation of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, different types of cancer and HIV/AIDS in Rwanda.
In addition, TAR independently implemented field activities especially awareness campaign in the fight against dropout of children in school, the teacher effectiveness campaign and active learning models. We support the Rwandan community in the fight against malnutrition through making the home based farms for greens and fruits to support the overall health of the family unit. Today TAR has over 5,000 beneficiaries accessing their services around the country.
Helping Children
We support children from the age of two with better nutrition, support their learning with scholastic materials. We also have school feeding programs so that they are not too hungry to learn.
Helping Teachers
We work hand in hand with our partner schools to provide training for teachers so that they can teach the current curriculum and equip learners with lifelong skills for the future.
Supporting Mothers
We empower all mothers including teenage mothers with skills to increase their household income so that their children and the community can be empowered.
Safe Drinking Water
Many children and communities need access to cleaner water for drinking and household use. We work to ensure that this is made possible for children, schools and communities.
